Brian Watts began working for the University of Utah in 2007 as an Associate General Counsel within the University’s Office of General Counsel. His practice has focused on health law, with an emphasis on health care compliance and research matters. For the past several years, Brian has also served as the Chief Compliance Officer for University of Utah Health where he oversees the operations of the Compliance Services unit, which includes the Billing Compliance Office, Clinical Research Compliance and Education Office, and the Information Privacy Office. His favorite quotation is from Justice Windeyer of the High Court of Australia, who stated: “Law, marching with medicine but in the rear and limping a little.”
