Michele Stanton

Program Director, Licensed Addiction Counselor Central Montana Medical Center

Michele Stanton is the Program Director for two HRSA funded, Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) grants at Central Montana Medical Center in Lewistown Montana, an Integrated Behavioral Health grant and an Opioid Use planning grant. Ms. Stanton is a Licensed Addiction Counselor, who facilitates group therapy using a cognitive behavior therapy approach. Her expertise in substance use disorders includes advocacy, relapse prevention, anger management and conflict resolution. She graduated with honors from Montana State University in Bozeman in May of 2008 with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Sociology. Michele was born and raised in Lewistown and after being away from home for about 8 years returned to work at an inpatient treatment center for felony offenders with substance use disorders. While working in this role, she went back to school and earned her Graduate Certificate of Addiction Counseling. She continues her education today, working to gain her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Michele has experience working as a social worker in acute and long-term care settings. Michele believes that everybody is capable of living a better quality of life by taking a holistic approach to health. She is very motivated to use her experience and knowledge to educate others and integrate behavioral health into primary care settings.
